Today’s adventure started with a visit to the Bayeux tapestry. It is about 70 meters long with a large portion even suggested missing. It retells the story of the Norman conquest of England with William (Duke of Normandy) and Harold (Earl of Wessex). There is a total of 58 scenes showcased. The tapestry itself is sometimes called not a real tapestry by some due to it being more of an actually embroidery. Sadly pictures of the tapestry aren’t allowed as the flashes could damage the tapestry. The tapestry was splendid to see and the tour even came with an audio guide to tell you the story with the corresponding panels
We also did a quick view of the cathedral at Bayeux that is in an old gothic style. It use to be the holder of the Bayeux tapestry. It is at this location did William have Harold make an oath to him, which Harold broke and led to the Norman conquest of England. The cathedral was very beautiful and we didn’t see much as they were in full mass.
